The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcasting live tonight at 8pm EST/5pm PST on NBC. Many of the major Oscar hopefuls are nominated for Best Picture including “Get Out,” “Lady Bird,” “The Shape of Water,” and “Call Me By Your Name.” Which ones are expected to take home those gold statues? Here I make my predictions for what will win in all of the film categories (I don’t watch enough TV to properly make any predictions on that front) as well as offer my personal picks for what should win and maybe what films got overlooked. Without wasting anymore time, let’s get into this.
The month of October has come to a close and I thought it would be fun to share my first of a monthly series of ranking the films released each month. Keep in mind that I didn’t see every movie that was released in October, mainly missing out on “Happy Death Day,” “Only the Brave,” “BPM,” and “Novitiate.” That being said, I saw a good chunk of the films that did release this month, both good and bad, so let’s begin with my ranking of the 11 October releases I saw from worst to best!
Right back into another film festival! The 55th New York Film Festival has begun and I’m going to be covering a few of the films playing, including revisiting some of my favorites that I already saw at TIFF! I’ve already gotten a chance to see Richard Linklater’s “Last Flag Flying” and Ruben Östlund’s “The Square so let’s get these reviews started!
