Hey, everybody! We have five new releases this weekend and I thought it would be fun to do a quick rundown of each film. In wide release, we have the latest Marvel Studios film, “Thor: Ragnarok,” the holiday-themed R-rated sequel, “A Bad Moms Christmas,” and Rob Reiner’s new biopic, “LBJ.” In limited release, Richard Linklater’s back with “Last Flag Flying” and A24 finally releases Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, “Lady Bird.” So let’s get right to it!
Time to continue on with the NYFF reviews! Got to revisit a couple of my favorite films of the year with Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me By Your Name” and Greta Gerwig’s “Lady Bird.” I’ll also be reviewing Todd Haynes’s “Wonderstruck” while also delving into this weekend’s new release from Denis Villeneuve, “Blade Runner 2049.” Ready to go!
Day 2 has begun. I didn’t have quite as busy of a day today having only seen three films, but all three have female directors are very much so worth discussing. We have Nora Twomey’s “The Breadwinner,” Lynn Shelton’s “Outside In,” and Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, “Lady Bird.”
