What’s New In Theaters (11/3/17): “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Lady Bird,” and More…

Hey, everybody! We have five new releases this weekend and I thought it would be fun to do a quick rundown of each film. In wide release, we have the latest Marvel Studios film, “Thor: Ragnarok,” the holiday-themed R-rated sequel, “A Bad Moms Christmas,” and Rob Reiner’s new biopic, “LBJ.” In limited release, Richard Linklater’s back with “Last Flag Flying” and A24 finally releases Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, “Lady Bird.” So let’s get right to it!

“Jupiter Ascending” Pushed Back Seven Months!

News just broke today that the newest Warner Brothers film by the Wachowski siblings, “Jupiter Ascending,” has been pushed back from it’s July 18th, 2014 release date nearly seven months. The new release date that the film will have is February 6th, 2015. The reasoning behind the delay, according to Variety, has to do with the fact that there needs to be more time to finish the special effects for the film.

This is the second time in recent memory that a major summer blockbuster has been pushed off for several months just weeks prior to their release after Paramount’s “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” another film starring Channing Tatum. That film was said to be pushed back for a 3D conversion and additional reshoots (which really meant more Tatum). Continue reading
