Day 8 was real good! Saw some pleasant surprises as well as revisiting one of my favorite films of the year. TIFF 2017 Day 7: “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” “Custody,” “Foxtrot”

Another slow day at TIFF, but saw a couple solid films today. We got S. Craig Zahler’s “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” Xavier Legrand’s “Custody,” and Samuel Maoz’s “Foxtrot.” Let’s get started!

TIFF 2017 Day 6: “First Reformed,” “A Fantastic Woman,” “The Shape of Water”

Sorry for the delay on this post, but let’s get ready to go down day 6! I got to catch Paul Schrader’s “First Reformed,” Sebasti├ín Lelio’s “A Fantastic Woman,” and finally Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Shape of Water.”

TIFF 2017 Day 5: “Unicorn Store,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”

Day 5 is a slow one. I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to see Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” today like I originally intended, however I saw a couple really good films! Today’s lineup is Brie Larson’s “Unicorn Store” and Martin McDonaugh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” Ready to begin!

TIFF 2017 Day 4: “mother!,” “Suburbicon,” “The Florida Project,” “Battle of the Sexes,” “Roman J. Israel, Esq.”

I had a very busy day 4! Saw a lot of big movies today including Darren Aronofsky’s “mother!,” George Clooney’s “Suburbicon,” Sean Baker’s “The Florida Project,” Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’s “Battle of the Sexes,” and Dan Gilroy’s “Roman J. Israel, Esq.” Let’s get to it!

TIFF 2017 Day 3: “Downsizing,” “Brad’s Status,” “Mom and Dad”

Interesting day 3 to say the least. Saw some disappointments, but also a couple of gems. Today’s lineup for me included Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing,” Mike White’s “Brad’s Status,” and Brian Taylor’s “Mom and Dad.” So let’s get started!

TIFF 2017 Day 2: “The Breadwinner,” “Outside In,” “Lady Bird”

Day 2 has begun. I didn’t have quite as busy of a day today having only seen three films, but all three have female directors are very much so worth discussing. We have Nora Twomey’s “The Breadwinner,” Lynn Shelton’s “Outside In,” and Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, “Lady Bird.”
